I could not wait to start working on this task and I just could not wait to show "all my knowledge (???)" of architectures and patterns. Well, I have to admit that I had overestimated myself :-).
The way I imagined data layer was nice, but unnecessary. The presentation layer was not so bad, but logic layer was a catastrophe. I just can't imagine how would it look like, I there were not my dear colleagues. I guess it would be a disaster. :D
That reminds me on a very good joke that I heard long time ago:
"Why make things more simple, if we can make them more complicated?" :D
